Have your elevator pitch ready

I’m passionate about having a positioning statement ready and waiting for the moment you need it.  I always thought I could busk it; that I would have the words ready when I needed them. Until this happened!

I’d just come out of a great project meeting with a client in the City.  My host walked me to the lift and as the doors opened she saw a colleague in the lift and said “You two should talk!”  I got in. He looked at me. I looked at him. I mumbled incoherently as the lift dropped.

We left the lift. He looked at me and said “nice meeting you” and we went our separate ways.  I still don’t know who he was and he knew nothing about me.
